Get to know our Board President!
Having served on the MCRCC Board of Directors since 2014, Maggie Melone-Echiburu became our Board President in August 2018. We recently asked her to share a little about herself.
What is one of the best things about contributing to MCRCC?
The best thing to me is knowing that my contribution is helping make a difference in someone's life. The services provided by MCRCC are so important and, unfortunately, so many people need them. We don't need to know what people's stories are; we need to help as much as we can.

Self-care is when you actively and deliberately do something to take care of your own mental, emotional and physical health. It doesn’t mean you squeeze something in but that you take the time to slow down, enjoy and find some calm or clarity in it. It is not selfish nor should it be considered indulgent. It is necessary in order to live a happy and healthy life.

Lorelei Ahlemeyer, our Campus Advocacy Program Manager
Housed in the Health & Wellness Center at CSUMB, Lorelei Ahlemeyer's primary role is to assist students, faculty, and staff that have been affected by any kind of sexual violence, dating or domestic violence, stalking, and/or sexual harassment. Although that is her primary role, she is involved in much more. You'll find her at campus-wide activities and events, info tables, orientations, etc. She does lots of presentations on campus, ranging from informing people about Campus Advocate services, to special topics like trauma-informed....

The Maxine Waters Act of 1984 mandates Child Abuse Prevention Education for public school children at four points in their school careers.
